24 Hours and Counting….Destination South Padre, Texas!
Why not pick out a warm wonderful place to be for Christmas? Join me on this holiday excursion… Choosing a fast and quick airline ticket on Southwest definitely has its perks and drawbacks. The infamous “cattle call” is no more! If you’ve flown recently, you have noticed the stanchions they have added to make the boarding more orderly. Now they have a new secret, and one you want to take advantage of. Prior to 36 hours before your flight, you can purchase the opportunity to be the first to board the plane for $10! Even if you change planes to reach your destination, a single charge of $10 will move you to the front of the line. Pick your favorite seat, store your carry-on in the overhead, and remember there is no charge for up to two pieces of luggage.
Speaking of luggage… always check-in at the curb with Southwest, as they make it quick and easy! If you have a computer handy, print out your boarding passes for the flight 24 hours our less before your flight. If it is less than two hours, they can do this for you at the curb. Without fail, every time I have used Southwest for a destination, curb check-in has always been the best choice and the service is excellent!
Do you have a favorite car rental agency or play the field depending on location or price? Once I arrive at a destination, one of the last hang-ups is the car rental line. Even with reservations, this can be a cumbersome process. By joining one of the “member advantage” plans, you can be on your way to fun and excitement… or even a quick lunch as you begin your journey, while others are still waiting! Enterprise is one of my favorites because of the fast and excellent service they offer. Being a “plus” member has you breezing to the front of the line. Often, you will find quick keys and an upgrade waiting for you. If you will have the opportunity to top off the tank before returning it to the airport, you will find you save $$$. If you have the car rental company fill the tank, it is almost always at a higher rate than you would find on your way back to the airport.
The countdown is on! Saturday morning take-off is at 8:30am, so won’t you join me? Shopping, bay fishing, moonlight on the water, and a crossing at Progresso into Mexico. Holidays in South Padre are fabulous, so let’s get packing!
