…the rumble of the hot tub, the roar of the gulf, or the frosty moon, so much to choose from and we haven’t even talked about today! My sister and I have always enjoyed shopping, but some favorite haunts can be the local thrift shops. The palm tree painted nesting tables won’t fit in the overhead bin, but if I were going to furnish a beach home or condo, don’t pass up the great buys you’ll find. If you find it irrisistable drop it at the local UPS store, on Padre Boulevard, and ship some treasures home.
Off to Pier 19 for an afternoon of bay fishing. Even with the warm forcast, just as we got aboard the clouds rolled in. Wearing jeans, tennis shoes, and bringing a jacket paid off before we crossed under the causeway. The crew of the Bay King were very helpful and made the afternoon enjoyable for everyone. The fish were more elusive that I remembered, but most of us caught our fish of the day. A couple of “girls” brought their own tackle with them from El Paso. Even teachers need a break! While none of us caught enough for a mess of fish, we all donated ours to one of the families on the outing. That didn’t stop us from having the dinner at Pier 19. They are known for cleaning your fish and then preparing them for you, complete with all the trimmings! Even “Elvis” serenaded us tonight while we enjoyed a variety of dishes from the menu. Check your coupon book that is available at the South Padre Island visitors center and receive $3.00 for each of your party for that bay fishing excursion.
Tonight, it was home to the condo and off to the hot tub. The Inverness Condominiums have two available, one on each end and one also has a pool. The poolside was quite breezy, so everyone else went to the other end of the building….can you imagine me smiling? The bubbles were popping , the joy was immense, peace to all and goodwill to men and I was starting to become prune like. Tomorrow’s another day and off to Progresso! Come with me…
