It’s Midnight Cinderella Part 7

It’s hard to click your heals in flip flops and imagine there’s no place like home, but after a wonderful Christmas Dinner, the suitcase came out.  Leaving the patio door open, to hear the roar of the surf, we watched the unending showing of Christmas Vacation.  It still remains as funny each time I see it.  It was a cooler Christmas day here, no wearing the cute yellow beach outfit from Calypso.  The view of the bay and accompanying pelicans, made the dinner taste even better!

Check-out time was 10AM and any deviation would result in a $100 charge per hour, so be aware of the stipulations you need to meet when renting a condo or using your time share.  It generally is not like a hotel with respect to calling downstairs and asking for a “late check-out.”  It’s sprinkling as we leave South Padre Island, I think the island is as sad to see us go as we are to leave.  A rainy day in South Padre, beats a snowy day at home any day.

Arriving at the airport, security is a sending every bag through x-ray, and the TSA’s intensity has increased.  It’s good to see we are being made as safe as possible.  When weather is an issue, use your laptop and head to your airline’s site.  You can check to see if it appears your flight will be on time and any delays.  Try and grab breakfast or lunch before getting to the airport, even without delays it may be a while before any substantial meal will be available.

With a change of planes at Houston’s Hobby Airport, we have a one hour turn around.  Flights are arriving and leaving a little late here at Harlingen… I am hoping I won’t have time to write more from Houston!  When I get home, I’ll add pictures either way!  Stay tuned…

  1. I do not know if I’m in agreement with your post here. See you do make a good point, I don’t believe you have actually given plenty of thought to the opposite side of this argument. Maybe I can do a guest post or a follow-up, just let me know.
